Lymphatic Drainage Massage
-
This bodywork aims to open up blockages that hinder the function of the immune system and digestive tract. The goal is to move lymphatic fluid (and white blood cells) throughout the body to flush out accumulated cellular waste, promote healing in areas where inflammation is present, and rehydrate areas that have been compressed.
A Medicupping™ machine is integrated, helping to direct the flow of lymph more efficiently and stimulates the lymph nodes to release old fluid. This feels like a soft vacuum that lifts and creates space under the tissue layers; its gentle vibration also has a calming effect on the nervous system.
The abdominal area, armpit area (axillary nodes), hip flexor/groin area (inguinal nodes), and outer breast tissue are massaged. (Don’t worry, you are covered appropriately when being worked on.) If you are not comfortable with having any of these areas worked, let your therapist know.
**Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is most effective when received as a series. You may feel and see some differences as soon as after your first session, but for long-lasting results, it is recommended to receive multiple sessions, which varies from person to person.

Post-Surgery Lymphatic Drainage
-
Lymphatic Drainage after surgery helps the body heal faster, more effectively and enhances your results. Since lymphatic vessels have been damaged during the surgical procedure, lymphatic pathways need assistance in reconstructing themselves so that fluid can be moved away from surgical sites.
This special massage redirects the lymph fluid to specific regions of your body rich in healthy lymph nodes so that toxins and cellular waste can be filtered and removed from the body. The practitioner has advanced training and certification in Post-Surgery Lymphatic Drainage and is knowledgeable of where NOT to direct fluid after surgery since normal lymph pathways have been damaged.
A Medicupping™ machine is integrated into these sessions during certain stages of healing, which helps reduce fibrosis (hard lumps), directs the flow of lymph more efficiently, and stimulates the lymph nodes to release old fluid. This feels like a soft vacuum that lifts and creates space under the tissue layers; it’s gentle vibration also has a sedative effect on the nervous system.
